A recent survey by Insead Business Schools has ranked Japan 20th in competitiveness and worker quality.

The survey shows that worker talent is not dependent on location, population, or resources, but implies that workplace diversity, regulations, immigration, and education are factors.

Regarding education, Japan may need to focus less on lectures and more on engagement and exploratory, critical thinking, with emphasis on communication and analysis.
